Dr Wayne Hudson is Head of Sculpture at the Academy of the Arts, University of Tasmania, Launceston. Wayne has undertaken internships at the Paley Studio in Rochester, New York on two occasions, artist in residence at Unitec, Auckland, New Zealand, as well as running a National Metal Symposium.
Dr Hudson has had several solo shows as well as been featured in numerous group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Wayne has been awarded a number of prizes for his sculpture, as well as grants from Government bodies. He has completed fifteen public artwork commissions as well as numerous private commissions.
Wayne’s sculpture has been purchased by the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart Unitec Collection, Auckland, New Zealand, the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston and private collections in Australia, New Zealand and USA.
