Zsolt Faludi is a master potter of eminent versatility. His works include decorative, sculptural, functional, architectural, large and small scale, traditional and contemporary. Zsolt was born in Hungary in 1953. He studied philosophy and literature before training with Hungarian Master Potter Janos Dougar. He went on to establish a studio in Tiszakecske, Hungary and was awarded the prestigious 'Young Potter of the Year', the Hungarian National Award.
When Zsolt immigrated to Australia from Hungary in the late 1980’s he was well versed in both national folk-traditions and contemporary ceramic practices of his home country. In Tasmania he gained his Master of Fine Arts degree at The University of Tasmania. Zsolt established and ran his own professional practice from 1994 and has gone on to be selected, exhibited, and awarded in countless exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally with work represented in many public and private collections.
